I just have to get up and go - that's the hardest part of all! I have to add that if you don't do it regularly you slip down the slope pretty fast.. I tried going for a brisk walk today and got tired out afte dunno 500 meters.. and my foot started hurting.. I'm gonna have a re-think..

Bummer Would a foot brace of any sort help with the hurting? Have you had foot problems before? That sounds odd. Do crunches/situps, too. Or anything that still works you out, but doesn't involve you to be on your feet for most of your workout. Good luck.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and when the doctor asked me about any concerns, I told her that I was wanting to lose weight, but I'm poor at keeping a healthy diet and don't exercise regularly. I did tell her about me belly dancing, though. And as of late, I try to belly dance every night before bed. Not only to work on my form, but to exercise, too. I asked my doctor about Weight Watchers. I'm sure I can do the weight loss thing on my own, but I feel that I am better off with a push, some guidance and some more education on how to sufficiently lose weight. She said that through all the diet programs out there, Weight Watchers was one of the best. Studies have shown that more people who do Weight Watchers are more successful on losing weight. She told me to try to see a nutritionist/dietician (same thing??) first. She was going to see if my insurance will cover it and get back to me. She also said to try Weight Watchers if my insurance doesn't cover it. But luckily, I found out this morning that they do! So I'm hoping to get the help that I need to lose weight. I like the help. Like I said, I could easily do this on my own. Well, I take that back. It's not going to be "easy." Losing weight never is easy. But I like the push and the help from people. I like being given assignments. I hope in the outcome of seeing a nutritionist (and I will tell them this, too), that I like it when people can give me something to work for. Kind of like an assignment. So I hope this works out! Not only the push from this, but getting "FUN!" second job to get me financially set is also great ... I finally feel like my life is turning around.

Great to hear about the improvements to your lifestyle Erin I've never seen a nutritionist, but it sounds a fab idea!! I almost gave in to Doritos and salsa dip today whilst watching The Lion King with a friends.. but fell back on Pasta, which i think is a lot healthier.. also I think eating things like salads are really good as they fill you up and don't add much (if any) weight.. I might just get some fruit salad now actually... yum!! anyho next week I'm gonna crack down on my excersise again.. I have 1 game of squash booked.. and if the flood water recieds a bit I might go for a walk somewhere.. you never know..

Well you could always find a canoe and go canoing in the floods Good arm exercise, jk But yes, I figured I'd like the push and some side support in my lifestyle change of losing weight. And it's covered by insurance, so why not?! Hmmm Doritos ... what flavor? And salsa? I never put those two together. I always put salsa with plain chips like Tostitos! Yum! I feel kind of guilty because I have this mindset already (it's only Monday morning) about eating as much non-healthy things up until Thursday when I see the nutritionist. I already had two cookies for breakfast Oops.

Could you handle basic, black coffee? If you can, try it and throw some cinnamon on top. Black coffee is healthier for you and cinnamon is very healthy for you!

I'll give it a try.. black coffee is nice with what I call 'posh coffee', but black instant coffee isn't that nice and leaves you with a furrrrry tounge!!!

Thanks to my mom (mum) for the cinnamon coffee! I don't have it a lot, but it's still good for flavor. And yes, if you do the cream/sugar for flavoring, cinnamon is a better alternative.

I tried chocolate coffee yesterday - Wow! Smelled so good! I made it kind of weak, so it tasted more like water than anything. I'm going to the store tonight, so I might grab a small container of it for myself ... I'll give it another go!

Just getting this back on track with Mental Health, I had a doctor's apointment today and I've put on 2 KG since I last saw him this put me in the catagory of over weight.. The main factors are having just given up smoking, and being on Olanzapine for my mental health stability.. both of which increase appetite and it's been very difficult for me to stay fit throughout this.. The new lifestyle structures he suggested were getting up earlier every day (my meds also cause me to be drowsy so this was another problem) and to do a 30 min brisk walk every day... (he did say that going to the gym was pretty pointless for weight reduction because a 45 min workout could put the wight back on with 1 sticky bun..).. anyway the idea of the walks is that you can do them every day.. so here's day 1!!
