some people write blogs.. I write songs. I stuck 2 up which are perhaps relevant to mental health (and were certainly written at key points in my health).. anyway have a listen : living in tupperware recorded at salford uni, on a tascam 4-track! using quartile harmony I believe!! Get me out of here demo written in quite a bad space www.trevwilliams.co.uk/on the sounds to hear page

ok so a few thoughts on a solo gig i played last night, as many of you know I write songs with pretty deep meanings sometimes.. not throw away pop (although I do try Ronan!!)..
last night was the first time I played 'get me out of here'.. not a great experience, although I got through the song.. people seemed to like it even. but the memory of when I wrote it was too strong. a friend said to me that "being able to play it now was a testimony of how far I'd come"
but why play these songs to people? like an emotional rollercoster.. people want to be cheered up / entertained don't they? not reminded of their darkest fears, or bad memories. or 'educated' about mental health concerns from one individual with one experience..
I concluded that I should write songs about happy memories so when I play them live I'll be reminded of the good things.. the girls who haven't messed up my mind.. the friends who come to the gigs even when they aren't that great.. the people who say well done to be supportive as well as the people who say it because they enjoyed it. oh and the flowers and the trees (just so you don't think I've forgotten them).
