I just saw a feature on BBC oxford news about a new scheme where people with Bi-polar disorder (manic depression) send an sms text message to a computer which monitors their mood.. and over weeks of input can tell doctors when intervention / help is needed..
it sounds interesting.. although I don't know how accurate results would be if you were putting in your own mood.. for instance if someone is very ill.. or maybe that was just something I struggled with when I was trying the CBT forms..
I think a constant form of contact (even if it is with a computer) on a daily basis is probably good though.. when someone is very isolated with a sever mental health issue it can be very helpful to have someone ask how you are every day..
