Service User Reference Panel Sub Groups
The Service User Reference Panel (SURP) has several ‘sub-groups’ which are open to new people to join. If you’re interested in joining any please reply here. Some of the groups are full at the moment, but we can get in touch as soon as there is a space.
Taskforce sub-group
The Taskforce is a partnership of organisations who plan, run and develop mental health services – the Health Service, Social and Community services, voluntary organisations such as Mental Health Matters and Restore, GPs, and Service Users and Carers. SURP sends 3 representatives to each Taskforce meeting (these are every 2 months). The Taskforce sub-group meets beforehand to read the paperwork, and give their views to the representatives to take to the meeting.
Care Programme Approach (CPA) – Care Planning
This group meets with people from the Mental Healthcare Trust and other organisations to give their views about how CPA is working. They also contribute to the training of mental health professionals
Black and Minority Ethnic Advisory Group
This is a new group which will bring issues about Black and Minority Ethnic people’s experience and mental health services to the attention of SURP and the organisations who run and plan services.
Sexuality, Difference and Mental Health
This is a new group to start exploring service user experience and views about sexuality, difference and mental health services
Put your name here if you’re interested
Steering Group
This is a new group to start taking on the running of SURP, setting up how it all works, planning for meetings, forming new policies.
Newsletter group
This group will be producing the next SURP newsletter
Later in the year there will also be groups about
