Speaking Out I welcomed people to the very first SURP Open Meeting, and introduced what the meeting was about and the structure. This was the first time I had to do a presentation in front of a large group and I was really nervous. But the experience boosted my confidence. I set a task for myself and I went out there and gave it my very best. I typed out what I wanted to say and used that to help me. To prepare before hand, I practiced twice in front of the SURP group who were running the meeting, and got helpful comments from them. Then I went away and practiced on my own. Speaking in front of a very big crowd for the very first time was a new challenge and I felt pleased with myself.
